Now Open: Campfield Ofuro Spa and Juybako Cabins

We celebrated the Grand Opening of Snow Peak’s Long Beach Campfield June 21st – 23rd, welcoming guests to the fullest expression of our brand. We spent the weekend celebrating all the Campfield has to offer, from friendly Takibi Time to quiet strolls around the site and soaks at the Ofuro Spa.

As we move through the height of summertime, we eagerly anticipate the moments we’ll share with more campers who come to Long Beach Campfield for the first time. The site is now fully open, welcoming outdoor enthusiasts to experience camping in a reimagined way. Read on for a closer look at two of our key amenities, the Ofuro Spa and Jyubako cabins, which are both fully open for visitors.

Ofuro Spa

While the entire Campfield experience centers on elevated amenities and relaxation, the Ofuro Spa is the most definitive part of this ethos. Modeled after traditional Japanese onsens, the Ofuro Spa is an escape into tranquility. The building blends with the natural landscape, nestled next to the pond and between loops of Jyubako cabins. The dark yakisugi siding and lighter wood trim offer an eye-catching contrast that complement the surroundings.

The Ofuro Spa’s open-air interior overlooks a grove of birch trees nestled next to the pond. Campers are greeted by the pleasant cypress scent that drifts outwards from the spacious sauna. The interior of the sauna features temple-grade hinoki from Nakamoto Forestry, a rare type of cypress wood that requires generations to cultivate.

The slow-growing trees take 40-50 years to reach full maturity, requiring careful management to ensure sustainable harvesting. Hinoki is known for its incredible durability and rot-resistance and carries historical significance in Shinto rituals.

After breaking a sweat in the sauna, guests can dip in the invigorating cold plunge, set at a chilly 52 degrees. An expansive heated pool offers space for a leisurely soak to break up the sauna and cold plunge rotation. The ample covered patio space hosts a Takibi lounge setup for those who’d prefer to fully dry before walking back to their campsite.

Soaking access to the  Ofuro Spa are complimentary for every overnight guest. Day visitors and locals may also purchase passes.

The Living Box: Jyubako Stays

We take comfort seriously at Snow Peak, and the Jyubako Cabins are the pinnacle of a luxurious camping experience. Originally designed for Snow Peak by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, the cabin’s concept centers on a living experience that’s integrated with the outdoor environment.

Featuring neutral wood tones and a minimalist aesthetic, the box-style cabins bring nature in with large front-facing windows that display the serene views of the campfield. The lightwood interior offers a private bathroom, queen-sized bed, kitchenette with a hotplate and mini-fridge and a Campfield Futon for lounging or additional sleeping space. Each cabin is also outfitted with a Pack & Carry Fireplace, Red Folding Chairs and Single Action Table, offering space to dine and gather outdoors. Jyubakos can comfortably sleep two adults and up to two children. Book your stay at www.snowpeakcampfield.com.
