The Snow Peak x Mountain of Moods collection was born from the brands’ mutual origins in the snowy mountains of Japan. Founded in 2015, Mountain of Moods is based in the town of Minakami at the foot of Mt. Tanigawa in the Gunma Prefecture of Japan. Led by Creative Director Masakazu Fukuyama, the brand produces technical apparel for snow recreation. Those familiar with Snow Peak’s legacy know that Mt. Tanigawa is where our founder Yukio Yamai was first inspired to start the business that became Snow Peak. 
Snow Peak and Mountain of Moods also have deep connections to the ski resort town of Hakuba in the Japanese alps. Snow Peak recently opened the Land Station Hakuba, a beautiful new retail experience and Fukuyama trained as a professional snowboarder in the nearby mountains.
These commonalities inspired the limited-edition apparel collection co-designed by the outdoor brands. Created for snow recreation, the pieces were designed with a focus on technical fabric and insulating base layers. It’s Snow Peak’s first snow-wear line and expands our apparel offerings into a new category of outdoor activities.
