The temps are dropping and there’s no better way to warm up than with a hot beverage. We consulted with Takibi’s Bar Manager Liberty Adams, who shared a newer addition to the restaurant’s beverage menu that’s perfect for chilly winter nights. The E.Z. Rider cocktail serves 3-4 and is meant to be shared with friends. Learn how to make it for yourself.
Gear:
Ingredients:
- 3 oz of Roku Gin
- 3oz or Cherry Bounce or an alternative (see below)
- 8 oz of EZ Pear Cider
- 14 oz soba cha tea
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz of demerara syrup
- Lemon wheel punched with 4 cloves for garnish
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a pot or kettle. Heat on the stove until the mixture reaches 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Transfer to the Field Barista Kettle and serve in Ti-Double 450 Mugs. Add the lemon wheel garnish.
Method for Cherry Bounce or Alternatives:
Use a cherry liqueur, or cherry Heering. When using these alternatives, add 1 clove, a teaspoon of allspice, a pinch of cinnamon, and a smaller pinch of nutmeg into the batch when combined over the stove. Alternatively, use a different kind of fruit liquor such as pear, apple, or berry. This recipe is adaptable when it comes to swapping out the cherry flavor. Try the brand Giffard Liqueurs for an easily attainable option.
