As an extension of our commitment to cultivating restorative experiences in nature, Snow Peak USA has started development on a campfield in Long Beach, Washington. We're excited to introduce the concept to our community of outdoor enthusiasts. The Long Beach Campfield is a 25-acre campground with the mission to unite people and alleviate the stresses of modern life through time together outside. Built with community and the healing power of the outdoors in mind, the campfield is designed to foster human connection and experiences with the rhythms of nature.
"When I joined my father's company years ago, I worked tirelessly to evolve Snow Peak into an outdoor lifestyle brand because of the joy camping had brought to my own life. As Snow Peak expanded, I realized we offered something greater than lifetime-guaranteed gear – memorable outdoor experiences that restore the human spirit," said Snow Peak USA CEO and Chairman of the Board Tohru Yamai. "This realization sparked the idea of a campfield – a place for people to gather and experience the rejuvenating power of the outdoors. At Snow Peak, we believe time outside reconnects us with our truer selves and reorients us to the rhythms of nature. Our mission for the Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield is to create space for these experiences."
Situated on the Long Beach Peninsula north of the mouth of the Columbia River, the campfield is centrally located between Portland and Seattle. The peninsula is home to many natural splendors including the pristine Willapa Wildlife Refuge and one of the world's longest continuous beaches
Working in conjunction with landscape architects 2.Ink Studio of Portland, Oregon, EFA Architects of Long Beach, Washington, and Helligso Construction of Astoria, Oregon, construction of the site will be executed with careful consideration of the natural environment.
Guided by six campfields owned and operated by Snow Peak in Japan, the campfield experience centers on community and thoughtful amenities to help people reconnect to nature. The Long Beach Campfield will include a heated soaking tub and sauna in a Japanese-inspired onsen and spaces for gatherings and interactive programming. Guests will park their cars in a lot at the entrance to the campfield and transport their gear to their site via footpaths and high-efficiency carts. This allows for a camping experience in total harmony with nature. Visitors can enjoy endless outdoor adventures, including beach-combing, coastal hiking, surfing, paddling, cycling, wildlife viewing, fishing, crabbing, clam digging, and boating.
The Long Beach Campfield will include a variety of camping experiences, from traditional walk-up campsites to tent platforms and campervan sites. Also available for individual and group use are Jyubako mobile cabins, designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma. These units feature comfortable bedding, Snow Peak cabin amenities, and a private bathroom. A onsite Snow Peak camp store will feature Snow Peak products for sale or rent, a market for prepared meal kits, grocery, and camping sundries.
"For more than two decades, Snow Peak USA has been steadily expanding its footprint in North America. "The campfield combines our design ethos and passion for restorative outdoor experiences while also serving as an essential connection point between Snow Peak and its community of outdoor enthusiasts. We're thrilled to welcome campers to a reimagined campground that will fundamentally expand the perception of Snow Peak in the USA."
